Week 3

In Week 3 of my Borough Market critical observations, I created type inspired by objects and textures found in the surroundings, translating the market’s visual environment into letterforms. I took more notes of overheard conversations and dialogues that revealed the rhythm and tone of the space. By combining these overheard snippets with the type, I explored how language and environment intersect, capturing both the visual and social character of the market. I also continued to study the nuances of an order, how individuals and groups behaved, interacted, and formed subtle patterns within the lively public setting.
